Once we decided to create a children’s book.

First, we created a story arc. I was impressed at the willingness and creativity of my (then) 6 and 9 year olds. The moral of the story was quick to come to them; I thought it generous and insightful.

Then, character development. Followed by story board, which was a LOT of art and ideas. Of course, some of the ideas were hysterically funny. We laughed a lot.

Once we have a formed story arc, moral, characters, back stories and a story board we had to decide the rhythm of the story. We chose to mimic Dr. Suess, Karma Wilson, and M. Christina Butler. We did not choose rhyme, but rhythm…why? Well, we want the book to be rapped.
